BATAVIA, Ill. (CBS) — The Comedy Vault in Batavia has canceled comedian Michael Rapaport’s shows for next weekend after he reportedly received death threats.
A few days ago, a local pro-Palestinian organization posted a message on social media asking supporters to call the club and demand that they cancel all of Rapaport’s shows.
In addition to comedy, Rapaport is known for his pro-Israel presence on social media, which has caused controversy.
The Comedy Vault has responded, saying in part: “We have decided that we cannot in good conscience proceed with a show that poses such a significant safety risk to our staff, audiences and the community at large.

Given the escalating violent threats against our staff and artists, including recent death threats, we have decided that we cannot in good conscience proceed with a show that poses such a significant safety risk to our staff, audiences and community. whole.
