June 22 – Stained glass lecture in Westerly June 23

Behind the closed doors of the mausoleums of Westerly’s Woodlawn Cemetery lie more than 1,200 stained glass windows that provide a glimpse of stained glass in America from the late 1970s to the late 1920s.

Since 2020, a team of conservators and conservators has been investigating the collection. On June 23 at 2 p.m., the Babcock Smith House Museum at 124 Granite St. in Westerly will offer a discussion on the process of researching and awarding stained glass windows in the mausoleum, discoveries from the stained glass research and the value of the collaboration between expertise in the field of conservation and restoration. historical research.

Transgender talk on June 26 in Old Lyme

Phoebe Griffin Noyes Library in Old Lyme is offering a Pride Month lecture, “Transgender 101,” with Jillian Celentano on Wednesday, June 26 at 6:30 p.m.

East Lyme Carnival July 19-21

The annual Carnival at St. John’s Church, Niantic, will be held Friday, July 19 from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM and on Saturday, July 20 and Sunday, July 21 from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

The carnival comes to town during Celebration East Lyme with games and attractions for all ages, along with carnival treats. The carnival supports the church and its community outreach program.
