November 21 —- Heat Drive

The Greenville Chamber of Commerce is seeking sponsors for the fifth annual Warmth Drive fundraiser to benefit Hunt County Seniors Service Alliance. Sponsorship levels range from $50 to $2,000. There will also be a wrapping party starting at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 5, at Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church at 3103 Terrell Drive in Greenville. Lunch will be provided for all volunteers.

—Feeding the community

Omega’s Biscuits ‘n Eggs in Commerce is once again offering a free Thanksgiving lunch for everyone from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. (or sold out) on Thursday, Nov. 28 at 1814 Monroe St. The meal will include a drink, a full plate of turkey and dressing, two vegetables, a salad, dessert and a goodie bag to take home.

—Fire Department Toy Drive

South Hunt County Fire Rescue, Tawakoni Fire Department and Tawakoni South Fire Department have joined a toy drive to benefit the Love Our City and Hunt County Tunes for Tots toy giveaway. Delivery location will be at the Quinlan Walmart at 8801 SH 34 S beginning Saturday, November 30 at noon.

—Holiday light show

Greenville SportsPark’s Holiday Light Show is scheduled for Friday, December 6 through Tuesday, December 31 most evenings from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Thursday through Saturday each week. The opening evening with free admission is from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM and on New Year’s Eve from 6:00 PM to 12:30 AM. Advance tickets available through Thursday, December 5 are $5, general admission is ages 4 and 12 and under and seniors is $5.

—Christmas parade of lights

Get into the holiday spirit at the annual Christmas Parade on Friday, December 6 at 6 p.m. Watch as festive floats, marching bands and Santa Claus himself make their way through the heart of downtown. Pack your things, bring your family and friends and enjoy an evening full of holiday spirit. Prizes will be awarded for Best in Parade, Best Use of Theme, Best Use of Lights, Best Classic Car, Best Modern Car and Most Original.

—Caddo Mills Christmas Parade

The Caddo Mills Christmas Parade is scheduled for Saturday, December 7 with chili, photos with Santa and a special appearance by the Grinch. The festivities will take place from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and all donated proceeds will benefit Caddo Mills Fire Rescue.

—Parade of Lights Watch Party

Greenville Parks and Rec will be hosting a Christmas Parade of Lights Watch Party at Greenville City Hall at 2821 Washington St on Friday, December 6 from 4:30 PM to 7:00 PM.

—Christmas at a small town car show

Christmas in a Small Town Car Show is scheduled for Saturday, December 7 at EZ Oil Change & Lube, 3815 Wesley St., from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will feature vendors, a raffle, a kids zone and 10 car show categories, Santa and the Grinch, an ugly sweater contest and more. —Free breakfast with Santa Claus

A free breakfast with Santa is scheduled for Saturday, December 7 from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. in the Greenville Middle School cafeteria at 3611 Texas St. Limited seating is available so you must register at greenvilletx.fun or (903) 457 – 2994.

—Adriana Estates Breakfast with Santa

Adriana Estates will host its third annual Free Breakfast with Santa on Saturday, December 14 at 373 FM 1903 in Greenville. In addition to Santa, the event will also feature free toys for every child in attendance, hot chocolate, photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus, real reindeer, storytime with elves, a large petting zoo with nativity scene and more. The event runs from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM for families in need and from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM for the public. RSVP guest numbers and ages of children to (469) 789-9806.

—Pancakes with Santa Claus

Hunt County Emergency Corps presents photos and pancakes with Santa at the HCEC Station at 1116 Main St. in Commerce at 6:00 PM on Saturday, December 14.

—Flashlight Candy Hunt

Greenville Parks and Recreation will host a Flashlight Cane Hunt at Greenville SportsPark on Saturday, December 21 at 6:30 p.m. Participation is included with paid admission to the SportsPark Holiday Light Show. Arrive as early as 5:45 PM to purchase tickets and grab a free flashlight while supplies last. — Entries for Around Town can be submitted via email to editor@heraldbanner.com.
