Weekend travel times will be slightly longer for motorists traveling on Interstate 5 near Fife as WSDOT prepares to close the highway in both directions to complete the freeway bridge.
Starting next weekend and for the next four weekends, the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) will close I-5 in both directions in connection with the completion of the SR 167 Expressway Bridge.
The closures are expected to take place on Friday and Saturday to minimise the impact on motorists.
The bridge is part of the extension of the SR 167 Expressway that runs over I-5 in Fife and is intended to improve traffic and connectivity to I-5.
The closure affects the following weekends:

The lanes will be closed from 7pm on Friday and Saturday, with all southbound lanes closed at 11pm and all northbound lanes closed at 10:30pm.
The lanes will be reopened at 11:00 am on Saturday and at 12:00 pm on Sunday.
Diversion signs will be placed to guide drivers around the closures.
