Conneaut Lake Borough Council hears police report

CONNEAUT LAKE – Conneaut Lake Regional Police officers responded to 304 calls between September 29 and November 2, bringing the total number of calls for the year to 1,902.

Mayor Jim Tigri gave the police report at the Nov. 13 Conneaut Lake Borough Council meeting.

Police responded to 152 calls in Sadsbury Township, 56 in North Shenango Township, 86 in Conneaut Lake Borough and 10 outside the area.

During that period, the police:

• Conducted 33 traffic stops in Sadsbury, including nine speeding citations, one speeding warning and two citations for stop sign violations.

• Conducted five traffic stops in North Shenango.

• Were dispatched to 12131 W. Vernon Road, Sadsbury to assist the Conneaut Lake Volunteer Fire Department (VFD) and multiple departments with a structure fire.

• Assisting in nine motor vehicle accidents.

• Assisted Pennsylvania State Police from the area in Conneautville Borough, Linesville, South Shenango Township and East Fallowfield Township.

• Were dispatched to assist Conneaut Lake VFD with a field fire on Route 285 and a building fire on Lakeside Drive in Sadsbury.

• Were dispatched to Water and Third streets for a collision involving a blue Chevrolet hitting another car sideways.

• Assisted State Police, Conneaut Lake VFD, North Shenango VFD, Linesville Police Department, Meadville Police Department, Ashtabula Sheriff’s Office, CHAPS and Lawrence Park Police Department.

• Responded to out-of-area calls in South Shenango, East Fallowfield Township, Andover (Ohio), Summit Township and Linesville.

• Answered calls for vehicles passing stopped school buses.

The total number of calls for emergency medical services was 24.

In Conneaut Lake Borough, police had 14 calls for officers, 16 traffic stops with 12 warnings, two citations for miscellaneous violations, one warning and one citation for stop sign violations.

The police also investigated eleven reports of suspicious activity and assisted emergency services on sixteen occasions.
