PITTSBURG – Firefighters in the East Bay quickly contained a wildfire that burned near homes in a Pittsburg neighborhood Friday afternoon.
Around 3:50 p.m., Contra Costa County Fire Protection announced that crews were responding to what was described as a “major” vegetation fire on the 2200 block of Santa Maria Drive.
Shortly before 4:30 p.m., the department said the fire was fully under control. About 1.5 hectares of a hillside burned in the fire.
No one was hurt.
No further details about the fire or the cause of the fire were immediately available.
