Our dry spell finally came to an end on Sunday evening and Monday morning with much-needed rain across the region. Most areas received between 0.25 and 0.5 inches of rain. While it’s not enough to erase the drought, it’s a good start. That said, we don’t have much more rain in the extended weather forecast.
A secondary cold front will bring much cooler temperatures over the next week. After a record high of 74 degrees for Veterans Day, our daytime highs will only reach the low to mid 50s, with overnight lows in the 30s. We can’t complain too much though, as the cool temperatures are only slightly below normal for this time of year. In fact, the first 11 days of November had an average high temperature of almost 70 degrees, a solid 10.2 degrees above normal.
Another system will bring clouds and a chance of showers on Thursday, although it looks like the most persistent rain will miss us to the south. Then we’ll be back to the low 60s by the weekend. It’s looking dry for the Eagles game on Thursday evening, but the temperature will be chilly. Wear layers for good fall football weather.
Temperatures will climb back into the 60s this weekend and the weather will once again be dry.
