State Rep. Willis Blackshear (D-Dayton) announced that the state has awarded $1,254,000 in grants to combat homelessness in Montgomery County.

Community Action Partnership of Miami Valley $220,000

St. Vincent de Paul Social Services, Inc. $740,000
News Center 7 reported this earlier that St. Vincent de Paul Society has announced it will stop operating the men’s homeless shelter in Dayton next summer.
The association cited financial reasons.
“We have experienced both significant inflationary pressures and the disappearance of extraordinary government funding to help us through the pandemic,” Michael Vanderburgh, executive director of the St. Vincent de Paul Society, previously told News Center 7.
