Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott recently suffered a mild sprain in his right foot, according to ESPN’s Todd Archer. Prescott was photographed while vacationing in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, and a running shoe can be seen on his right foot.
The tweet, posted by Mexican football commentator Juan Carlos Vázquez, said the photo was taken “last weekend.”
Although Vazquez provided a time frame with the photo, ESPN reported that “it was unclear when the photo was taken.” Archer’s source said Prescott no longer wears the walking boot.
If the injury occurred before last weekend, we know it happened after June 5, the last time the Cowboys had an organized practice.
At this time, it is unknown how Prescott sprained his foot. While the cause of his injury is unclear, ESPN reported that the injury is “not expected” to bother Prescott until the end of the month, when the Cowboys convene for training camp.
Prescott is out of contract with the Cowboys beyond this season as the veteran QB seeks a contract extension. This injury isn’t the best way to start the season, especially with negotiations still ongoing, but we won’t know anything until he gets his feet back on the ground in training camp.
