Traffic on westbound Interstate 10 near Cabazon is backed up Sunday and officials are warning of delays of up to an hour.
A SigAlert was issued after a crash blocked the left lane near Apache Trail. There was a traffic jam on Tipton Road around 2:30 p.m
The crash was reported around 10:30 a.m., the California Highway Patrol said.
The backup comes at the start of a busy week for holiday travelers, when heavy car traffic is expected.
About 9 million Californians will travel by car this Thanksgiving, an additional 1.3 million travelers compared to 2023, according to AAA Mountain West Group’s holiday forecast.
