Crash on State Route 16 is a near miss for WSDOT crews in Vancouver

On Tuesday, Washington State Department of Transportation crews were nearly hit when a crash occurred right next to them in a construction zone in Vancouver.

WSDOT used social media to remind people of the dangers their crews are in while working on the roadways.

“Thankfully, none of our employees or contract personnel were injured,” WSDOT wrote in a Facebook post. “Far too often they are not so lucky.”

Check out this near miss in a work zone on SR 14 near Vancouver on Tuesday evening. Fortunately, none of our employees or contract personnel were injured. Far too often they are not so lucky. This video shows how vulnerable our crews are on the road. We say this a lot, but somehow it’s never enough: slow down, move and pay attention. Do your part to ensure that these people can come home to their friends and family at the end of the day.
