Crews from the California Department of Fish and Wildlife and the U.S. Coast Guard responded Thursday morning to a spill that authorities said was reported in the Richmond Wharf area.
The CDFW Office of Spill Prevention and Response Twitter account said their staff and the Coast Guard were at the scene of the reported spill. The post did not specify exactly what substance had been spilled. A photo attached to the post showed a boom across the water in the dock area.
The crew started an investigation into the source of the leak. A boom and absorbent materials were used to minimize environmental impact, the post said.
A later post noted that there were no observed effects on wildlife. Additional updates will be provided as more information becomes available, officials said.
