Crews quickly contained the vegetation fire east of Petaluma

Firefighters from multiple agencies were able to quickly extinguish a vegetation fire burning east of Petaluma near Old Adobe Road, according to authorities.

The Cal Fire Sonoma-Lake-Napa unit posted on X that units arrived on scene shortly before 3 p.m.

Cal Fire said additional air and ground resources were dispatched to the incident, which included three separate fires along the west side of the road that abuts a field.

Aerial footage of the fire showed ground crews were still on scene at 3:45 p.m., but the fire had been largely extinguished.

Authorities temporarily closed Old Adobe Road. So far nothing is known about the cause of the fire.
