Lee County Sheriff’s Office

The following reports were filed Thursday by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.

A County Road 811 Saltillo woman, 20, said a woman contacted her and wanted to pay her $1,000 for her portrait. She received two $1,000 checks and deposited one into her bank account. The person said he needed a screenshot of the deposit receipt. She thought something was wrong and called the bank to make sure the check was real. The woman and the woman had been texting back and forth all day, but hadn’t discovered anything about the portrait. She thinks it is a scam and is afraid someone wants to harm her with the money.
