ZANESVILLE − The Zanesville Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal two-vehicle traffic accident Sunday afternoon. It happened at 2:37 p.m. near mile marker 3 on Ohio 93 in Newton Township.
The post said in a news release that a 2015 Chevy Cruze driven by Katina Dawson, 38, of New Concord, was traveling north when she went left of center. The Cruze collided with a 1985 Chevy Corvette driven by John Butler, 76, of Crooksville.
Dawson was injured in the crash. Butler died from injuries sustained in the crash, the news release said.
Assisting at the scene were the New Township Township Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services and the Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office.
