A Burlington crossing guard has died in the hospital after he was hit by a car while escorting two students across the street. It happened Friday morning on Jacksonville Road, just outside Burlington City High School. Police have identified him as 74-year-old Bruce Morlack. Surveillance footage shows a red car almost hitting the group as it led them across the street.
