CHICAGO (CBS) — A cracked track caused delays to CTA Brown Line train service on Chicago’s North Side Thursday morning.
According to CTA officials, the extreme temperatures caused the rail to crack.
Train services ran for about an hour only between Southport and the Loop.
CTA said shuttle buses have been requested between Kimball and Southport to provide connecting service to the area.
Riders were also advised to consider other services, including nearby bus routes or buses to other rail lines. The agency recommended using the No. 81 Lawrence and No. 82 Kimball buses.
The agency says service will resume and additional time is needed.
