Cygnett Hotels & Resorts opens new property in Kharagpur, West Bengal

Cygnett Hotels & Resorts has inaugurated Cygnett Inn Kharagpur in West Bengal, marking an important step in its Indian market expansion strategy.

The move is aimed at capitalizing on the growing need for affordable yet high-quality accommodation options in the industrial hub of Kharagpur.

The company is focusing on secondary cities and towns across India, in response to increased demand for budget and mid-range hotels.

Cygnett Hotels & Resorts Founder and Managing Director Sarbendra Sarkar said: “India’s hospitality sector is experiencing steady demand growth in key markets, with the mid-market playing a key role in driving nationwide room demand.

“Kharagpur, as a major industrial city, has a significant business travel base and Cygnett Inn Kharagpur will serve as a preferred accommodation option in the region.”

Cygnett Inn Kharagpur has more than 75 rooms and is suitable for both business and leisure travelers with its extensive facilities.

With over 2,000 m² of banquet space and 5,000 m² of landscaped lawns, the hotel is poised to become a prime venue for events and meetings.

The property also features an all-day restaurant, lobby lounge, bar, health club and swimming pool, ensuring guests can enjoy a range of amenities.

Sarkar added: “In the coming years, we want to strategically expand to destinations with high tourism appeal and strong business activities. From vibrant urban centers to emerging tourism destinations, Cygnett Hotels and Resorts will launch a number of new hotels, offering travelers a diverse and inclusive hospitality experience.”

This development is part of Cygnett Hotels’ larger goal to operate more than 100 hotels by 2029.

The company focuses on locations with robust tourism potential and dynamic business activities to ensure consistent service quality and adherence to sustainable hospitality practices.
