Durham police are investigating a homicide after a man’s body was found shot multiple times early Sunday morning.
According to a news release from the Durham Police Department, a driver called 911 around 12:36 a.m. to report a person lying on the side of the road in the 2500 block of Wrightwood Avenue.
Police said the man, who was not identified by police, died at the scene.
Police say they do not know where the man was shot and what the circumstances surrounding the shooting are.
According to police crime data, as of June 8, there have been 307 shootings in Durham, with 112 people shot. Of these, 19 were fatal and 93 non-fatal.
