August 11 – BEMIDJI – On Monday, August 19, a defensive driving course/refresher course will be offered via Zoom from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
The four-hour course is for drivers 55 and older who want a discount on their insurance. The instructor for the lessons is retired Minnesota State Patrol Trooper Mike Flatley.
A recent change in the law regarding the Senior Driving Program means that participants can now take the four-hour course for their first course. The eight-hour beginner course is no longer a requirement, according to a press release.
Anyone who has already completed the beginners course can also take this course and continue to receive a discount on their insurance.
The cost of the course is $15. To pre-register, please contact
