Roads in Central Florida will be visible for less than a quarter mile Thursday morning, according to the National Weather Service in Melbourne.
“If you are driving, be sure to slow down, use low beams, and leave adequate following distance between vehicles,” the NWS said in their forecast. “Conditions are forecast to improve until shortly after sunrise, with the dense fog advisory ending at 8am”
Central Florida remains mostly dry with temperatures slightly above normal. There is some moisture in the area, with the NWS predicting a 20% chance of precipitation, especially in the eastern counties.
Temperatures will continue to rise this week and it will remain dry for a long time until a cold front arrives on Sunday.
Temperatures will still reach the mid 70s, with lows in the upper 50s.
However, even with the cold front on Sunday, no significant cold temperatures are forecast on New Year’s Day.
