Des Moines police were investigating the death Friday evening of a man whose body was found in a car after a crash near Carlisle.
According to a police news release, the man, whose name was withheld, was found dead at 6:18 p.m. in the car, which had left the southbound on-ramp of Highway 5 to US 65 and ended up in a ditch.
The release said the man apparently suffered a “medical event” but did not provide details.
It said the investigation was continuing.
