The Detroit Red Wings have recalled goaltender Sebastian Cossa from the Grand Rapids Griffins, it was announced on Monday.
Cossa, who was drafted by the Red Wings in the first round of the 2021 NHL Draft, has spent the entire season thus far in the AHL. In 14 appearances, he has a 9-4-1 record, along with a 2.21 GAA and a .925 SV%.
Over his three-year pro career, Cossa has made 57 regular season appearances for the Griffins, posting a 32-14-10 record, a 2.49 GAA and a .911 SV%, along with three shutouts.
With this being his first NHL recall, Cossa joined the team for practice on Monday. With the Red Wings set to take on the Boston Bruins on Tuesday, Cossa could make his NHL debut.
