The Democratic National Committee will hang a banner over Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles with a message of support for Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic nominee for president. Lecture “Go birds! Pocket project 2025! Vote for Kamala,” the DNC said the banner is part of a broader NFL campaign “meeting Pennsylvania voters where they are.”
The DNC also has planned a skywriting ad reading “Vote Kamala” to fly over the Pittsburgh Steelers (3-2) game in Las Vegas, where it can target voters from two swing states – Pennsylvania – with one message and Nevada. The DNC has scheduled flyovers of other NFL games in swing states on Sunday, also involving teams from other swing states, including the Arizona Cardinals (2-3) in Green Bay (3-2) and the Atlanta Falcons (3-2 ). at the Carolina Panthers (1-4). The Eagles (2-2) will take on the Cleveland Browns (1-4) at Lincoln Financial Field at 1 p.m.
It’s Democrats’ latest attempt to continue reminding voters of Project 2025, the conservative roadmap for overhauling the federal government that, among other things, calls for passing the strictest abortion ban the next Republican administration can get through Congress . The Harris campaign and the DNC have linked former President Donald Trump, the Republican Party’s presidential nominee, to Project 2025, even as he has repeatedly tried to distance himself from the proposal.
“It’s NFL Sunday and Eagles fans across Pennsylvania are ready to dismiss Donald Trump’s Project 2025 playbook and fight for their freedom with the Harris-Walz ticket,” DNC spokesperson Cameron Niven said in a statement . “Trump’s Project 2025 agenda is a dangerous plan to give him unprecedented power over Pennsylvanians’ daily lives, raise taxes on typical families by nearly $4,000 a year, and give tax giveaways to his billionaire friends.”
The DNC has previously used airplane banners to campaign at sporting events in 2024, including ahead of a Phillies game in September at Citizens Bank Park that read “Don’t Strikeout w/Trump Go to Bat 4 Harris.” The Phillies defeated the Tampa Bay Rays 2-1 that night. Also in September, the DNC hung a banner above Beaver Stadium that read “Penn St: Beat Trump, Sack Project 2025.” Penn State won that game 34-27 against Bowling Green.
Campaigns focused heavily on Pennsylvania in 2024 because of the state’s 19 electoral votes and potential to swing toward either candidate. Harris will be in Erie on Monday, the same day Trump will campaign in Montgomery County.
The last day to register to vote in Pennsylvania for the November election is October 21. The last day to request a ballot is October 29.
