Maybe it shouldn’t be a surprise that the Cleveland Cavaliers defeated the Milwaukee Bucks, but Donovan Mitchell ended the game with plenty of drama.
The Cavaliers star netted a game-winner in the middle with 0.3 seconds left, breaking the hearts of the struggling Bucks and improving his team’s record to 7-0. The result pushes the Cavaliers within one win of the best start in franchise history.
Mitchell finished with an even 30 points, plus four assists.
The ending canceled out huge nights for Damian Lillard (41 points on 24 shots, nine assists) and Giannis Antetokounmpo (34 points, 16 rebounds, nine assists). Lillard was about to be the hero at home when he fired the go-ahead shot with 9.8 seconds left. Unfortunately, Dame Time wasn’t the end.
The rest of the Bucks combined to make 15 of 38 from the field for 38 points.
Unfortunately, the crushing loss has been the theme of the Bucks’ season thus far. They entered the year as potential contenders in their first full season under head coach Doc Rivers and have been a 1-5 disaster thus far.
