The blue chip index fell by 267 points, 0.6%. The S&P 500 fell 0.4%, and a majority of stocks in the index fell. It’s the twelfth day in a row that the S&P has shown negative breadth, which is the longest streak based on available data through Dec. 31, 1999, according to Dow Jones Market Data. The Nasdaq Composite fell 0.3% after hitting a record Monday Closed.
