When will the heaviest rainfall occur?

Although we expect a wet morning with occasional showers in the first half of the day, the stronger storms are expected later in the day. Storms are likely to pose the most serious threat from late afternoon to early evening.

Beware of rip currents

Dangerous rip currents have also been a concern along the Cape and Islands this weekend, and this warning remains in effect through Monday. This includes beaches in southern Rhode Island, Martha’s Vineyard, Nantucket, and the beaches on the south and east Cape.

What do you do if you get caught in a rip current? Stay calm. Swim parallel to the shore until you find an exit and can get to safety. However, it is best not to swim in the marked areas until the rip current is no longer so dangerous. We should see some relief from this by Tuesday.

What does the rest of the week look like?

The chance of rain decreases as the week progresses. The middle to end of this week will be pleasant, sunny and dry. Almost autumnal weather awaits us after the storms have passed!
