A dozen California counties, including the Bay Area and Northern California, are under a public safety power shutoff for Pacific Gas and Electric on Election Day.
While the website does not mention how many customers may be affected by the possible closures, customers in the following countries could be affected:
- Alameda
- Butte
- Against Costa
- More
- Napa
- Plumas
- Santa Clara
- Santa Cruz
- Solano
- Sonoma
- Stanislaus
- Yolo
PG&E’s website says these counties are being watched for high winds and dry conditions. The utility says shutoffs will likely impact some customers in parts of each province.
Customers in those same counties, along with Glenn, Kern, Mendocino, Stanislaus and Tehama, may also have their power shut off Wednesday and Thursday due to the potential for high fire danger.
It is not clear at this time whether the potential power safety shutdown will impact voting centers in each county.
