Dozens of Chicago aldermen are denouncing the mayor over the school board’s resignation

A day after Mayor Brandon Johnson announced that his entire hand-picked school board would resign, dozens of City Council members criticized the recent developments in an open letter. After announcing the resignations, councilors wrote: “This is unprecedented and brings even more instability to our school district.”
