DORCHESTER – Boston police say a suspect driving a stolen car erratically damaged 15 to 20 cars in a Dorchester neighborhood Monday afternoon.

Dennis Harrington’s prized 1987 Buick Grand National was stolen while he was at work. The suspect later crashed him into over a dozen vehicles.

“Sick to My Stomach”

Harrington said he put about $150,000 into the car.

“He literally ruined my life by joyriding the car for no reason. It just makes me sick,” Harrington said. “I was sick to my stomach because I can never replace that. Insurance will never cover it. I’m sick to my stomach.”

Police are looking for the suspect who stole this 1987 Buick Grand National and crashed it into more than a dozen cars in Dorchester.

The suspect used a screwdriver to steal the vehicle, but luckily Harrington had an AirTag tracker on the car and was able to tell police officers where it was going.

It headed toward Center Street, where the suspect crashed into cars, including Luan Dai’s. His front was ripped off. According to police, the suspect then ditched the stolen car and fled on foot. The vehicle was found on Leslie Street.

“My mom called and said my car had been hit, and I was shocked,” Dai said. “I’m just sad for everyone in this situation and I hope he’s caught soon.”

No arrests made

The chaotic day ends with the suspect leaving a trail of destruction and frustration.

Harrington had saved for the car for three years and planned to pass it on to his son. “I hope he gets his due,” Harrington said.

Officers were looking for the suspect. No arrests have been made yet and the investigation is ongoing.
