A driver was extricated from the Pacoima Wash after going off the road following a two-car crash in North Hills on Saturday.
According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, it happened in the 15100 block of W. Parthenia Street just before 5 p.m.
The circumstances surrounding the cause of the crash remain unclear, but one of the two cars plunged several feet into the riverbed, fire officials said.
SkyCal was overhead as the driver was carried to safety in a basket before being taken to a nearby hospital in serious condition. No information was immediately available on the person’s identity.
Another person was treated at the scene for minor injuries, fire officials said.
