During a 911 call, a man admitted to shooting a woman at Kendall’s home, police say

A man called 911 and told the operator he had shot a woman in her Kendall home early Sunday morning, police say.

At approximately 3:37 a.m., Miami-Dade police responded to the home, located on the 6200 block of Southwest 109th Avenue. After entering through an open door, they found a woman with a gunshot wound, according to police.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue took the woman – who was in stable condition – to HCA Florida Kendall Hospital. Some time later, a man called 911 and confessed to his involvement in the Kendall shooting.

“Through investigation, it was determined that the individual was linked to the incident and his custody was transferred [MDPD,]the agency said Sunday afternoon.

Police did not release the identities of the man and woman – nor their family ties – on Sunday. However, detectives from the department’s Special Victims and Domestic Violence Units are investigating the shooting.
