Early Super Bowl picks, QB confidence meter and Aaron Rodgers skipping NFL preseason | Inside Coverage

In this episode of Internal coverageJason Fitz and Frank Schwab go through some of the most confusing QB situations in the NFL and rate them on a made-up confidence meter, but first…

The Bears have signed WR DJ Moore to the largest contract in team history, and everyone agrees it’s a good deal and a smart move for both parties.

It looks like Aaron Rodgers will skip the NFL preseason for the New York Jets after missing all of last season with a torn Achilles tendon. How can he shake off the rust? Is this a sign that the team, or the player, has the situation under control?

Finally, it’s time to check out the QB Confidence Meter. The guys start in San Francisco, where Frank says the 49ers shouldn’t pay Brock Purdy and they shouldn’t pay any QB who isn’t on a rookie contract. It’s a bold idea!

Fitz says Russell Wilson is a write-off in Pittsburgh, but even if Russ plays well this year, so what? The Steelers don’t want to pay him what the market says he’s worth. Another unknown is Indianapolis, where Anthony Richardson has a sky-high ceiling but hasn’t played much the past two seasons.

Fitz says Joe Burrow is the second-best QB in the NFL, but there will remain concerns about whether he can stay healthy. Meanwhile, the Vikings are betting on a rookie QB who barely threw the ball in college.

As for Broncos rookie QB Bo Nix, both guys agree he should start right away for Sean Payton’s team. Fitz has some homework to back up his strong claim that Bo Nix is the next Nathan Peterman.

Finally, we put Frank on “Schwab Island” and have him defend his Super Bowl LIX pick before Fitz gives his own pick for who will take home the Lombardi Trophy.
