Edmonds police arrested a 35-year-old man Wednesday morning during a drug raid at a motel in the 23900 block of Highway 99, Edmonds police announced.
The arrest followed a months-long narcotics investigation led by the department’s Problem-Solving Emphasis Team (PSET).
Investigators found probable cause that residents of a motel room were selling fentanyl and methamphetamine.
During the execution of the search warrant shortly after 6:30 a.m., officers found additional methamphetamine, fentanyl, cocaine, prescription pills and $1,200 in cash.
The suspect, an Edmonds resident, was booked into the Snohomish County Jail for possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance.
Earlier this year, Edmonds police had investigated the near-overdose death of a child in another room at the same motel.
This incident prompted PSET to further investigate drug activity at the location, leading to credible information that resulted in the search warrant.
“EPD will continue to work with motel owners to ensure they do not condone or permit criminal activity as this behavior directly impacts other area businesses and the health, safety and quality of life of our Edmonds community,” the department said .
The investigation is active and ongoing, and police have indicated that more arrests may be made.
