El Paso police are investigating a shooting during a home invasion in the Northeast

El Paso Police Department detectives are investigating a shooting during a burglary early Saturday morning at a home in a northeast neighborhood, a police official said.

One person was shot and taken to hospital in an unknown condition in a case being investigated by the Crimes Against Persons Unit, a police spokesman said.

The shooting occurred during what police described as a home invasion that was in progress around 4:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 22, in the 4800 block of Tholos Court, a police spokesman said.

The house is located on Kenworthy Street, just off Sagittarius Avenue in the Apollo Heights neighborhood.

No further details about the shooting had been released on Saturday.
