Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) couldn’t resist referencing a dirty Internet joke to poke fun at Donald Trump and his running mate J.D. Vance during the Democratic National Convention on Thursday night.
The Massachusetts senator began her DNC speech with a eulogy for Vice President Kamala Harris, comparing her commitment to supporting families to Trump’s.
“We need to make life more affordable for working people. Donald Trump, the criminal, has no plans to lower the cost for families. He doesn’t know how, and he doesn’t really care,” she said. “When has he ever filled up a tank of gas or worried about a grocery bill? The only bills he worries about are his criminal defense attorneys.”
She went on to point to a bizarre joke that circulated online last month suggesting that Vance had admitted to having sex with banks.
“Trust Donald Trump and JD Vance to take care of your family? Hell, I wouldn’t trust them to move my couch,” she said.
Vance expanded on the jokes, referencing banks in one of his speeches at a rally in Nevada last month.
