Elkhart woman injured in accident

Nov. 26—An Elkhart woman was hospitalized after an accident Sunday afternoon.

Goshen police said at 6:45 p.m., Edwin Nazario, 17, of Elkhart, was driving north on a private drive along Rieth Boulevard in a red GMC Sierra, while Justina Ravenscroft, 37, of Elkhart, was driving east on Rieth Boulevard and the two vehicles collided.

Ravenscroft was taken to hospital for injuries.

HIT-AND-RUN

A 63-year-old woman reported to Elkhart County deputies and witnessed a car crash between a semi-truck and a silver vehicle at the intersection of US 20 and CR 35 in Elkhart on Monday at 5:44 p.m.

ARRESTS

– A 30-year-old woman was arrested and jailed by Elkhart County deputies at 1:11 a.m. Saturday on charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated following a crash near Marathon Gas, 51451 Ind. 19, Elkhart.

– A 27-year-old man was arrested and jailed at 9:58 a.m. Sunday by Elkhart County deputies on charges of larceny, auto theft and resisting law enforcement following allegations that he took a set of car keys during a domestic dispute on Alpha Drive in Gosen.

– A 45-year-old man was arrested and jailed by Elkhart County deputies Sunday at 6:35 p.m. on charges of operating a vehicle while under the influence following a car crash on Ash Road south of Riverbend West.

– A 43-year-old man was arrested and jailed by Elkhart County deputies after being stopped on Ash Road south of CR 16 on Sunday at 1:53 p.m.

BURGLARY

– A 56-year-old woman and a 67-year-old man reported to Elkhart County police that someone broke into their storage unit at Storage Rentals of America, 52292 CR 9, Elkhart, between Thursday and Saturday.

– A 71-year-old man reported to Elkhart County police Sunday at 2:01 p.m. Someone kicked in the door of a home in the 56000 block of Jones Street in Elkhart and stole several faucets, a thermostat and vents.

Impersonating a civil servant

A 27-year-old man reported to Elkhart County deputies at 10:01 a.m. Sunday. Someone in a maroon 2016 Chevrolet Equinox flashed red and blue lights at him, posing as a public safety officer, and tried to get him to stop.

OFFICIAL REPORT

A 31-year-old woman reported to Elkhart County deputies around 4:42 a.m. Saturday that someone she knew had broken the back window when she entered a home in the 57000 block of South Ninth Street in Elkhart.

THEFT

– A 34-year-old man reported to Elkhart County deputies Sunday at 11:27 p.m. that someone had entered his Chevrolet Traverse in the 30000 block of Carter Kash Drive.

– A 35-year-old woman reported to Elkhart County deputies that between Wednesday and Friday, someone entered a 2011 Chevrolet Cruz and damaged the center console, and a 2013 Buick Enclave took her wallet containing her ID, cash and work card.

– A 37-year-old man reported to Elkhart County police that someone stole a trail camera from his property in the 67000 block of CR 21 in New Paris on Saturday.

FRAUD

– A 29-year-old man reported to Elkhart County deputies that fraud had occurred between 4 and 5 p.m. on October 25.

– A 67-year-old woman reported to Elkhart County deputies that someone had committed fraud between November 15 and 16.
