It’s called Beat the Bomb. It is a game where groups have to work together in an escape room-like environment. If they fail, they are downsized.
Philadelphia will be home to the fourth location for the attraction, the first in Atlanta, Georgia; Brooklyn, New York and Washington DC
Before taking on the bomb defusing mini-game, teams must overcome other challenges, such as a laser maze, to earn extra time on the bomb clock – the final challenge.
“Most of you won’t beat the bomb, and will be destroyed by 40 gallons of paint,” said Alex Patterson, CEO of Beat the Bomb.
We didn’t have so much luck on a few attempts at the challenges live on CBS News Philadelphia. We were first blasted with paint and once that was all cleaned up, less than an hour later covered in slime.
Luckily, Beat the Bomb offers protective gear, so you don’t have to worry about paint and slime ruining your clothes.
Once your Mission Impossible-style adventure is over, there’s a full bar with cocktails, slushies, and beer on tap, as well as a kitchen with plenty of dining options.
Beat the Bomb’s Philadelphia location will open to the public on Friday, October 11 at 1218 Chestnut Street.
