Euro 2024: Which teams qualified for the knockouts and who was eliminated

Both Groups E and F reached their conclusion on Wednesday without a group as close as Group E, not just in this edition of the European Championship, but ever.

For the first time in European Championship history, all four teams – Romania, Belgium, Slovakia and Ukraine – started the day with three points after two games. By Wednesday evening, Romania had finished top, Belgium second, Slovakia qualified as one of the top third places and Ukraine were eliminated on goal difference.

Things became clearer in Group F, where Portugal were already guaranteed to finish top of the group. However, Georgia’s shock win over Cristiano Ronaldo’s side secured a surprise third place in the group – and qualification for the knockouts – at the expense of the Czech Republic. Turkey defeated the Czech Republic to finish second in the group.

How to watch Euro 2024 on TV

The BBC and ITV/STV share broadcasting rights for the European Championship in Great Britain.

The BBC broadcast England’s opening win against Serbia and also broadcast the draw against Denmark after ITV banked on Gareth Southgate’s men reaching at least the semi-finals.

ITV picked England’s final Group C match against Slovenia, plus a last 16 match involving the Three Lions and a possible semi-final.

The BBC will broadcast every England quarter-final, with both channels – as always – sharing the final.

The opening match of the tournament between Scotland and hosts Germany was on ITV, with the BBC picking the Scots’ other Group A matches against Switzerland and Hungary.
