Everest and Lhotse without O2 in one press

Forty-eight hours after summiting Lhotse, Piotr Krzyzowski from Poland has reached the summit of Everest. He did it both without oxygen or Sherpa support and without descending lower than Camp 4.

At the time of writing this story, Krzyzowski was still on his way back to Camp 4. We will update as soon as we have news.

Krzyzowski has always climbed with his own tent and supplies. Last weekend he also helped rescue a Macedonian climber on his way to Camp 4.

On Tuesday he had an unexpected adventure when he trekked through the night to the top of the Lhotse. Three people in front of him walked diagonally onto a route that deviated from the normal path. Thinking it was a shortcut, he followed them for over an hour until he realized they were going to an obscure place, but not to the summit.

It was undoubtedly Tim Howell, Jon Gupta and one of the Nepalese guides, on their way to the Lhotse ridge, from where Howell planned to make the highest Wingsuit jump ever!

Everest is Krzyzowski’s seventh summit at 8,000 meters, all without oxygen and in this self-sufficient style (except for the use of fixed ropes). In addition to Lhotse-Everest, he has climbed all five 8,000 meters in Pakistan.
