Ex-Flyers Enforcer receives relief due to contract termination

The Carolina Hurricanes have placed former Philadelphia Flyers forward Brendan Lemieux on unconditional waivers ahead of a mutual contract termination.

Lemieux, 28, was placed on waivers by the Hurricanes on October 16 and then sent to their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Chicago Wolves. In twelve games with the AHL squad this season, the plucky forward has two goals, 30 penalty minutes and a minus-4 rating.

Lemieux played in 16 games with the Flyers during the 2022-23 season, where he had two goals, six points, 52 hits and a plus-3 rating.
