The Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office arrested a suspect Saturday in connection with a homicide in Valley Ford.

Around 3 p.m., someone called the sheriff’s office to report that a man was outside their home yelling and trying to break down the door.

The caller told the sheriff’s office that two people were in the home and that they had been in contact with one of them.

As the suspect tried to break in, one of the people inside started locking all the doors and windows while the other hid.

The sheriff’s office said the suspect managed to break open a door and killed one of the occupants.

Officers were quickly able to arrest the suspect. He was identified as 44-year-old Adrian Yanez of Fairfield.

Yanez was booked into the Sonoma County Jail on suspicion of murder and burglary.
