Fani Willis is appealing the decision to dismiss charges in an election interference case

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis has filed court papers to appeal the decision to dismiss several charges against several suspects in the Georgia election interference case.

Fulton County Superior Judge Scott McAfee ruled in March that six of the charges in the indictment should be thrown out because they are not sufficiently detailed.

They were related to the allegations of solicitation of violation of oath by a public office.

Former President Donald Trump and his co-defendants filed to dismiss the charges, claiming they were legally deficient, making the ruling a victory for the former president.

Many of these specific charges allege that the men illegally asked election officials in Georgia to call a special legislative session and appoint pro-Trump electors.

Three of the dismissed charges directly mention Trump and allege that the former president asked Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger to “unlawfully influence the certified election results” and requested that Raffensperger decertify the election in an infamous phone call in whereupon Trump asked Raffensperger to find more votes for him.

McAfee wrote that prosecutors could file a new indictment on the dismissed charges.
