It’s no secret that the running back position is consistently risky for fantasy, making big plays on every down basis and touching the ball more consistently than other skill position players like the wide receivers or tight ends – that workload is part from from from what makes them so valuable to fantasy football managers.
Unfortunately, this sometimes comes at the cost of an injury. That was the case this week for the Detroit Lions, who will play the remainder of their season without star running back David Montgomery, who suffered a season-ending knee injury in Week 15. On the other hand, those fantasy football managers with teammate Jahmyr Gibbs could have a big run during the rest of the fantasy playoffs… especially in full PPR leagues.
