Welcome to Week 6 of the 2024 NFL Season! Four teams have byes this week, including the Kansas City Chiefs, Los Angeles Rams, Miami Dolphins and Minnesota Vikings. That means tougher decisions on your plate when two top-10 RBs are out of the game (Kyren Williams, Aaron Jones). Unfortunately, even riding with those once-supposed “locks” like Jacksonville Jaguars RB Travis Etienne, who are active, won’t provide much comfort in their absence.

It’s been a strange season for Etienne, who lost work week after week to second-year RB Tank Bigsby after officially being beaten in total rushing yards this season in the Week 5 win over the Colts. Week 5 was a career-best for Bigsby (who currently leads the league in yards per rush attempt, mind you), tallying 129 scrimmage yards and two scores on 14 touches while outscoring Etienne 23-22.
While Etienne appears to be literally losing ground to Bigsby this year, his saving grace has been his work as a receiver, running nearly double the number of routes in Week 5 (15 through Bigsby’s eight) – a role that will fully retain his value . PPR competitions… at least for now.
