ISLIP, NY — A deadly crash on the Southern State Parkway has shut down traffic heading east on Long Island.
The four-car accident occurred Thursday morning near Exit 42 in Islip.
According to New York State Police, one of the drivers involved was driving the wrong way in the eastbound lane.
Authorities confirmed that one person had died, but they had not yet identified the victim.
The investigation into the crash is still ongoing.
