A fatal motorcycle crash led to an hours-long SigAlert on the 101 Freeway in Studio City Saturday afternoon.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred in the southbound lanes near Lankershim Boulevard and Ventura Boulevard around 3:30 p.m.
While the circumstances surrounding the crash remain unclear, investigators say they believe a motorcyclist was struck and ejected from his vehicle. They were pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim has not yet been identified.
CHP officers issued a SigAlert that blocked all lanes except lane No. 5 for several hours until it was canceled around 8:30 p.m.
SkyCal flew over the scene of the accident, where a silver sedan with serious windshield damage could be seen parked near what appears to be a covered body.
