Fire at Buddhist temple residence in San Francisco leaves 15 displaced, firefighter injured

A fire at a Buddhist temple residence in San Francisco’s Mission District displaced 15 residents and injured one firefighter Tuesday evening, fire officials said.

Around 6 p.m. Tuesday, the San Francisco Fire Department said a two-alarm fire affected the home next to Hua Zang Si Temple on the 3100 block of 22nd Street. Shortly before 11 p.m., officials said the fire was under control.

A firefighter reportedly suffered minor injuries while extinguishing the fire.

According to the fire brigade, three cats and a dog were rescued from the fire.

The American Red Cross responded to the displaced residents, according to fire officials.
