Sacramento Fire Department crews are responding to a grass fire in North Sacramento’s Robla neighborhood that has burned multiple buildings and vehicles.
Firefighters arrived on scene near Claire Avenue and Dry Creek Road after a call for a tree fire, only to find it was also burning grass, prompting a larger response. According to fire department spokesman Capt. Justin Sylvia, the fire quickly spread to a nearby backyard and burned the 10 to 15 cars parked there.
The fire spread further north, causing “major damage” to one home and the vehicle in the driveway, which “burned to the ground,” Sylvia said. Several barns in the area were also destroyed by the fire.
The fire brigade estimated the fire at three to four hectares shortly before 4 p.m. No injuries have been reported.
