Firefighters battled a massive blaze at an auto parts store in Hollywood on Saturday.
According to a statement from the Los Angeles Fire Department, the fire was first reported in the 1300 block of N. Highland Avenue around 4:20 p.m.
Crews arrived to find heavy smoke coming from the roof of the building, which is part of a one-story L-shaped shopping center.
After about 10 minutes, large flames began protruding from the roof, which was visible with SkyCal overhead. Firefighters tried to fight the flames from above using a ladder.
Crews reported that the building suffered a “structural compromise” as a result of the fire. It turned out to be an AutoZone from SkyCal.
It is unclear how the fire started and whether any injuries were reported.
Highland Avenue between De Longpre Avenue and Lexington Avenue was closed to the public until firefighters completed their firefight.
